Tape for repairs

I actually haven’t used it yet but it’s sure sticky so I know it’s going to work for repairing around my skylight and gutter!

Don't wait until leaks appear

All new RVs are built like absolute garbage, so using this as a preventative measure on some poorly done seals. No leaks so far, easy to apply.

Gooey white backed tape

This is an interesting tape: it is a white flexible plastic with a thick gooey adhesive (which is grey). The adhesive is about 1/32 or 1 mm thick and is very sticky.I prepared the inside of my gutter at the leaky joint by cleaning thoroughly with window cleaner, brushing with a plastic brush, and then wiping clean to leave a good surface for adhesion. I then measured and cut the length I needed. This is easy to do because the tape has a clear backing over the adhesive so you can easily measure in place.Once measured I cut with a utility knife and removed a part of the clear backing. I stuck that in the right place and removed the backing as I continued sticking the tape down. The tape is VERY flexible so you can really get around corners. Obviously, you can't expand it that much, so you may need additional pieces of tape. But you can fold and bunch the tape to some degree.Overall, this is much easier to deal than silicone and it has a strong and flexible white backing which is much better than silicone that is not enforced.I cannot speak to longevity, but we'll see how it goes. I would definitely use on the outside of white gutters as well as you cannot really see anything but white.

Heavy duty patch tape, not duct tape!

This looks a duct tape, but really it's not. It's patch tape and much much thicker.I want to call out the packaging; they're waving the USA flag pretty hard here, but it's made in China. It looks like a big roll of tape, pic with a screwdriver for comparison, but it really is only 20' long because it's that thick. The thickness does a decent job of covering up gaps and holes. There's a layer to peel off from the sticky side, and with care even big pieces aren't too bad to install. You do kind of need to get it right the first time .. the adhesive is pretty serious. Speaking of, don't set the roll down on end like my size picture. There's enough extra adhesive on the ends that it stuck hard to the desk!I have a closeup here showing the thickness as installed. This is in an old bath, and it's thick enough that water will collect on that edge some. You may want to adjust your application and align it so it drips off if possible.Another pro-tip. Don't use a rubber band to keep the remaining tape in a roll. The thickness is like padding, and after just a couple of minutes the rubber band dented the surface of the tape, which was completely smooth. I wound up using a piece of painters tape to keep it wrapped up. This may seem pendantic, but coming off the roll it's pretty smooth and white, making a nice presentable surface.Unfortunately the tape they use to keep it wrapped in the box is not painters tape. It doesn't come off well, and left marks all the way around the roll you can see. As such, I had to cut almost a foot off of my 20' roll to have a presentable look.Time will tell if it's really 15-years-waterproof, but definitely makes for a non-trivial patch
