1. Purpose & Product Overview

TITAN PATCH PRO Gaffer Tape is designed for temporary, secure fastening where clean removal and a professional finish matter.

Common uses include:

  • Cable management
  • Floor safety and trip prevention
  • Garage and workshop organization
  • Event, AV, stage, and studio setups
  • Temporary mounting and repairs

Key Features

  • Cloth-backed construction
  • Ultra Matte, non-reflective surface
  • Low-odor adhesive
  • Strong hold with clean removal
  • Hand-tearable design (no tools required)

2. How Gaffer Tape Differs From Duct Tape

Gaffer tape and duct tape serve different purposes.

  • Duct tape = aggressive, semi-permanent
  • Gaffer tape = controlled strength, removable

As a rule of thumb:
If duct tape is permanent muscle, gaffer tape is controlled strength.

Gaffer tape is designed to:

  • Stay put during use
  • Protect surfaces and cables
  • Remove cleanly without damage

3. Surface Compatibility

TITAN PATCH PRO Gaffer Tape can be used on:

  • Concrete
  • Wood (including finished wood)
  • Carpet
  • Floors
  • Walls and painted surfaces
  • Fabrics
  • Plastic
  • Cables and cords

Best results: Apply to clean and dry surfaces.

4. Stay Safe While Working

  • Keep work areas clean and well-lit
  • Watch footing when taping floors or walkways
  • Avoid creating trip hazards during installation
  • Wash hands after use if you have sensitive skin

The adhesive is low-odor and safe for indoor use.

5. Tools & Materials Needed

No special tools required.

Optional but helpful:

  • Clean cloth or paper towels
  • Mild cleaner or isopropyl alcohol (for surface prep)

6. Step-by-Step Application

Step 1: Prepare the Surface

  • Remove dust, dirt, oil, or moisture
  • Wipe surfaces clean and dry completely

Clean surfaces = stronger hold.

Step 2: Tear the Tape Properly

  • Use two hands
  • Press one thumb down at a 90° angle
  • Tear sharply down and across

Straight pulls produce the cleanest tear and edge.

Step 3: Apply the Tape

  • Place tape where needed
  • Press firmly and evenly along the entire length
  • Pay extra attention to edges

No excessive force needed, firm even pressure is enough.

7. Proper Cable Taping Method (Recommended)

This method is widely used on sets, stages, and events by professionals.

Step 1: Bundle the Cables

  • Use short strips around the cables only
  • Place strips approximately every 5ft (1.5 meters)
  • Keeps cables aligned and tidy

Step 2: Secure to the Floor

  • Run a long strip lengthwise over the cables
  • Press firmly so the tape conforms to cable shape

Step 3: Adjust for Foot Traffic

  • High foot traffic areas:
    Use two strips side-by-side
  • Low traffic or backstage areas:
    One strip is usually sufficient

This reduces trip hazards and protects cables.

8. Layering, Repositioning & Stretch

  • Layering: Allowed when additional hold is needed
  • Repositioning: Possible during initial placement
    • Repeated repositioning will drastically reduce grip
  • Stretch: Minimal stretch by design to prevent curling

9. Removal & Residue Guidance

How to Remove Correctly

  1. Peel back slowly
  2. Pull at a 45° angle
  3. Remove steadily, do not yank

If removing from cables, peel the tape off the cable, not the other way around.

Residue Note

Under normal use, the tape does not leave residue.

If environmental conditions leave light adhesive marks:

  • Use the removed piece of tape
  • Dab gently onto the residue
  • Adhesive will usually lift itself cleanly

10. Application Time & Environmental Notes

  • Recommended maximum continuous application on sets: up to 4 months
    • The tape can hold up to 5 years under normal conditions.
  • Extreme heat, cold, dust, or moisture may reduce effectiveness over time
  • Suitable for indoor and outdoor use
  • Splash-resistant, but not designed for permanent water exposure

Temperature Range

  • Recommended use: -5°C to 95°C

11. Storage & Shelf Life

Storage Guidelines

  • Store tape in its original box
  • Keep in a dry room with stable temperature
  • Avoid prolonged heat, moisture, and UV exposure

Shelf Life

  • Up to 5 years or longer when stored properly

Over time, exposed adhesive may collect dirt, reducing performance.

12. Best Practices Summary

  • Clean surfaces before applying
  • Tear straight using two hands
  • Apply firm, even pressure
  • Avoid repeated repositioning
  • Remove slowly at a low angle
  • Store tape properly when not in use

Clean setups. Controlled strength. Professional results.

When used correctly, TITAN PATCH PRO Gaffer Tape holds strong and disappears when the job is done.
