Avoid surface damage: Do not place the roll with the adhesive side facing down, it will stick and be difficult to remove.
Reusable caps: The top and bottom covers are designed to be reattached after use. Always replace them to prevent the tape from drying out or sticking to unwanted surfaces.
No underwater use: This tape is not suitable for use directly underwater or on wet surfaces. Moisture reduces adhesion.
For active leaks: If sealing a pipe or pool with ongoing leakage, apply the tape firmly and quickly to prevent water from compromising the adhesive before it sets.

3. Tools & Materials Needed for Installation
Before you start sealing with TITAN PATCH PRO, make sure you have everything ready. Here’s what you’ll need:
-
TITAN PATCH PRO roll (available in different lengths—pick the right one for your job)
Surface prep and cleaning Supplies
- Sandpaper (for smoothing rough surfaces)
- Scraper or putty knife (to remove old sealant, dirt, or debris)
- Isopropyl alcohol (or another recommended cleaner - Can be used to remove old butyl as well)
- Mild dish soap or detergent
- Clean water
-
Clean rags or paper towels
Application Tools
- Scissors or a sharp utility knife (to cut tape to size)
- Hand roller or your fingers (to press the tape firmly)
-
Pin or paperclip (to gently pop any trapped air bubbles)
Safety Gear
- Gloves (recommended when handling cleaners or working with sharp edges)
- Eye protection (especially during prep work or when on a ladder)
Step 1: Locate the Leak
Before you grab the tape, take a moment to inspect the area you’re working on thoroughly.
-
Look for trouble spots: Check all seams, joints, fasteners, skylights, vents, openings and cracks.
-
Spot old sealant: Loose or cracked sealant? That’s a leak waiting to happen—patch it too.
-
Use the bubble trick (2 person job): Spray soapy water over suspected areas and blow air from within where you see the leak (via compressor). The person outside looks for suds, suds = leak spot. (Add a cup of dishsoap to 5 gallons of water)
-
Light test (2 person job) (Tip from Customer): A light test can help you find potential holes, gaps, or cracks. For this, you'll need two people, one outside and one inside the RV. The person inside shines a light on suspected leak areas, which are often near vents, corners, and A/C units. If the person outside spots any light shining through, then BINGO! You've found where your leak is coming from. (Might not always work.)
Step 2: Prep the Surface
The better the prep, the better the patch.
-
Clean it up: Use alcohol wipes, Acetone, Commercial Roof Cleaner or a mild cleaner to remove dirt, dust, oil, or old sealant.
-
Do not use detergent cleaners on old Hypalon, PVC or TPO, instead use sand paper and wipe off dust.

-
Scrape it smooth: Use a putty knife, scraper or sandpaper on flaky or rough surfaces, or if having troubles removing old sealant.
- Dry completely: Moisture will ruin adhesion and lead to mold or rust. Dry with a clean cloth and let it air out before applying the tape.
Step 3: Apply the Tape
Time to get hands-on and seal the deal.
-
Check temperature: Best applied above 40°F (4°C), but can be applied all the way down to -20°F (-20°C).
- Use a primer below 40°F (4°C) or on porous/dusty surfaces (like old wood, cement or rusted metal).
-
PVC Roofs, smoothen the surface with sandpaper or other and wipe off the dust. Do not use primer here.
-
Ensure the surface is dry.
-
Pre-cut or roll as you go: Measure and cut the needed length, or roll it out gradually.
-
Remove film, by grabbing outer edges with thumb and forefingers. Push fingers together, bunching the tape in the middle. This opens up the film easily without any hassle.
-
Peel slowly: Remove the backing film little by little to avoid tangling.
-
Stick carefully: Align and press the tape firmly in place. Start from the center and press outward to the sides.
-
Smooth it out: Use your hands or a roller to remove air bubbles.
- We do not recommend popping air bubbles. If the air bubbles are larger than ¼ an inch, you must pop the air bubbles. Use a very thin pin or paperclip, and do it gently to avoid damaging the tape too much, and press down on the tape afterwards, this will allow it to reseal properly.

- Seal the edges: Press down firmly along all sides and overlap by ½ inch where needed for watertight protection.
Step 4: Storage & Shelf Life
Proper storage = long-lasting tape.
-
Store away from heat: Keep it under 90°F (32°C) in a sealed bag or container.
-
Wrap it back up: Add the protective outer layers on top and bottom of the roll before storage.
- Lifespan: Good for 4–5 years after opening if stored right. If it starts to stiffen or harden, it’s time for a new roll.
Step 5: Maintenance & Check-Ups
A little care goes a long way.
-
Inspect regularly: Check corners, seams, and vents every few months—especially in hot or sunny areas.
-
Patch if needed: If tape lifts or wrinkles, peel it back and reapply.
-
Keep a backup: Store an extra roll for quick emergency fixes. It’s like a spare tire—better to have it and not need it. We recommend the 20ft option, and if you send us an email we can give you a 20% discount as you’re already a Trooper.
Step 6: Warranty
Protect your patch.
-
Register your product to activate the 2-Year Manufacturer Warranty --> Here
-
Covers any manufacturing issues with the tape (we do not cover damage from improper use or installation, or inspection of the tape).
