Will it start my vehicle?
The JFP50 delivers 12V / 1000A peak and starts gasoline engines up to 6.0L and diesel engines up to 3.0L, which covers the vast majority of cars, SUVs, pickups, vans, RVs, ATVs, motorcycles, boats, mowers and tractors on the road.
I've never jump started a car. Can I use this?
Yes, that's the design goal. The 6-point SafeStart system checks the connection before any power moves and blocks reverse polarity, sparks, short circuits, low voltage, overheating and extreme temperature. Attach the clamps, power on, confirm the indicator lights, start the vehicle. If your battery is very deeply discharged, press the manual boost button on the underside first.
How often do I need to recharge it?
A full charge holds for 3 to 4 months on standby, and gives you up to 25 starts. Recharging takes 30 to 45 minutes with the included 65W USB-C charger. In extreme cold or heat, top it up more often to keep it at peak readiness, and the free Recharge Reminder Service emails you every 90 days so you don't have to keep track of it.
Should I buy one or more than one?
One unit can be shared across a household, since it recharges in under an hour. But the whole value of a jump starter is that it's already in the car when the battery dies, which is an argument for one per vehicle. At 2 or 3 units the price drops to $119 each, so that's the option we default to.
